Lenovo Legion Y90 to use SSD and UFS 3.1 in RAID 0 February 23, 2022by Martin 6 The Lenovo Legion Y90 is shaping up to be an exciting phone, especially after Lenovo's latest teaser on Weibo. It is talking about SSD and UFS 3.1 storage chips that work in RAID 0 configuration. This is probably the first in the industry. We've seen SSDs in smartphones before, Apple's iPhones have since used them instead of UFS chips. iPhone X. However, Lenovo's heterogeneous design allows a standard UFS storage system to work alongside an SSD in a RAID 0 configuration. For those unfamiliar with RAID 0, it's a way to increase storage performance by using two drives simultaneously and writing bits of data to each. It's been used in high-end PCs and laptops for years, but this is probably the first time we've seen it on a commercial smartphone.
